Project Description

Kitchen Mold Remediation, Cabinet Demolition, Repair & Moisture Damage Cleanup in San Jacinto, CA

At first glance, this kitchen did not look like the kind of space that would need major mold mitigation work. The countertops were still in place, the cabinets were still standing, and much of the room still looked usable. But once we opened the lower sections, the story changed. What was hidden underneath and behind those finished surfaces was not something a quick surface cleanup was going to solve.

For this mold mitigation project in San Jacinto, CA, we focused on the lower kitchen cabinet areas, where the affected materials needed to be opened, removed, and cleaned out the right way. We moved from inspection into controlled demolition and cleanup, with our attention on the areas where moisture-related damage had built up out of sight. Kitchens can hide problems well. Damage can sit inside cabinet bases, behind toe-kicks, under sink areas, and along lower wall sections while the room still looks mostly normal from the front.

That is what makes this job stand out. We did not treat it like a surface-level issue. We worked below the surface and into the parts of the kitchen that were actually affected. We opened lower cabinet sections, removed interior panels where needed, and took out damaged materials so the space could be cleaned and handled the right way. Once those areas were exposed, it became clear the damage had spread beyond what someone could see just by standing in the room. After that, we completed the needed replacement work in those lower sections to help put the kitchen back together in a much better condition.

We handled this part of the job with a clear plan. Protective floor covering was laid down through the work zone to help protect the surrounding space while demolition and cleaning were underway. We did not open more than we needed to. We opened the areas that gave us access to the damage so the affected materials could be removed and the space could be addressed properly. That is the difference between opening a kitchen with purpose and tearing into it without a plan.

Jobs like this are a good reminder that mold damage and hidden moisture do not always show up in a dramatic way. Sometimes it starts with a musty smell, a little staining, soft material, swelling around a cabinet bottom, or changes near the kick plate. Those signs may seem small at first, but once the affected areas are opened, the damage can tell a very different story. That is why acting early can make a real difference.

For this San Jacinto mold remediation job, the kitchen may have looked fairly intact at the start, but the lower sections told the real story once we began. By the end of the work, we had opened the affected lower cabinet areas, removed damaged materials, corrected the mold-related issues within those sections, and completed the replacement work needed to leave the kitchen in a much better condition. Resilient Restoration Group LLC provides mold mitigation, mold remediation, selective demolition, cleanup, and related repair work for residential and commercial properties in Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and Imperial County when musty odors, staining, soft materials, and hidden damage start pointing to a bigger issue.
